There can be a little menu, like there is on the "Connect" dialog, and you can select the tracker you want to join. 2) b20 has the option to always queue downloads, can it be made so that a server can force queued downloads? 3) If the maximum number of downloads are reached, can the person be put on a queue? That way, when a slot opens up, people can be served on a first-come-first-serve basis? 4) Here's the longest shot. . .it's a little tough to explain, but I'll try. The program that I can think of that comes closest to implementing something like this is Eudora 3, hopefully Hinks has it. When you view your e-mail, there are several columns, each with a different sort of information. One has the sender, another the message topic, another the "label", the priority, size, and so on. There is a bit of information overload going on there however, and as such, the Eudora user can opt to make some of the information not visible, for instance I don't care what my mail's priority is, so I deselected that column. As of right now, the Hotline Tracker lists three different types of information: Server name, number of users, and description. Perhaps there could be: 1) Additional types of information. Examples would be connection speed, maximum number of downloads, and so forth. 2) As a corollary to this, the operator of the tracker could select which types of information he/she wanted to be visible on their tracker. By selecting "Tracker options" there could be a "Display connect speed" "Display maximum downloads" and so forth, each with checkboxes not to them. Information would be supplied by the server through fill-in dialogs, like the one currently used to display Server Name. Was that clear? I like the first three ideas better, but I think this one is also something to consider. . . Jon __ Jon Goldberg '99. ______________________ /\ | | /\ / \ Just your average guy.
