Fine....if you're gonna be that way, then do it like this Example: Zini: Hey... I feel dorky tonight Cheesy: Me too....huhuh.... got this server crashes a lot. What the hell's wrong with it? Zini: I have no damn idea! You think I should e-mail Hinks? Cheesy: nah.....he get's enough mail already. Zini: yeah... this list generates a lot of mail!! It's starting to tick me off. Cheesy: hehe Zini: Did you know that FogCity is giving us LetterRip for $100!??! Partly because the list is so big and also because I beta tested since 1.0b1! Cheesy: sweet... did you fix TB2?? Well, you get the idea. It's spoof-proof, and it looks nice and neat. -------------------------------------------------------------------- | "Being diplomatic is like | Philipp Conrad | | saying 'nice doggy' until | http://www.tezcat.com/~cowboy/ | | you can find a stick." | cowboy@tezcat.com | | - Takedown | phil@theconrads.com | -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Other issues From: Adam Hinkley Date: Tue, 21 Jan 97 16:06:40 +1100 >1) if you send a private message to somebody, and they have already >left, it should tell you. I could do that, and it would look quite nice, but the chat would have to be hard wrapped - dunno if that's a good idea. And hardwrapped to how many characters? ____________________________________________________________________ Adam Hinkley, developer of Hotline ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Other issues From: Phil Hilton Date: Tue, 21 Jan 1997 00:20:10 -0500 >1) if you send a private message to somebody, and they have already >left, it should tell you. Like having a virtual answering machine! course I don't know how it could deal with nick impersonating. IP's are dynamic too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: question & suggestion From: Phil Hilton Date: Tue, 21 Jan 1997 00:23:47 -0500 >Not with 7.5.3 and later it doestn't. I often organise the files in the finder - it'd be real pain if I was forced to do everything from the client. That's something I don't like about FirstClass - you can't do into the Files with the Finder and have a look around. >I'm REALLY into remote >administration! Especially with my situaion and ML! The INIT patches GetNextEvent() presumabley to schedule extra processing time for Hotline. However, this is unlikely to improve performance noticeably because Hotline already schedules itself from interrupts. ____________________________________________________________________ Adam Hinkley, developer of Hotline ---------------------------------------------------------------------- End of The Hotline Users Digest --- Internet Message Header Follows --- Received: from lists.fwparker.org by bertrand.ccs.carleton.ca (SMI-8.6/SMI-4.0) id EAA19567; Tue, 21 Jan 1997 04:03:07 -0500 Message-Id: <199701210903.EAA19567.19567@bertrand.ccs.carleton.ca> From: The Hotline Users Mailing List To: The Hotline Users Mailing List Subject: The Hotline Users Digest #8 - 01/21/97 Date: Tue, 21 Jan 97 03:00:01 -0600 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Precedence: Bulk X-ListServer: LetterRip 1.0 by Fog City Software, Inc.
