From: "M. Lamoureaux" Date: Tue, 28 Jan 97 07:52:30 -0500 Hi all, I have been trying to find a working copy of Hotline 1.1b19(68K). All 4 68K versions (from different servers) I have downloaded are corrupt! The application comes up with a -199 error and in the GetInfo box, the memory is set at 0 and cannot be changed. Any information about where a working 68K version can be found would be appreciated. Apple's guidelines or innovation? By definition, innovations either do not follow guidelines or at least stretch them a bit. -pf ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Hotline 1.1b19 (68K) doesn't work! Note: the copy of Holine in the Hotlie server files section is the EXACT SAME file as teh one presented on the Website. we've simply made an alias for the Hotline files section. BTW: based on what you've told us, it seems to be a problem on your computer. Go through all the usual steps, rebuild desktop file, run norton, etc... That, and many, if not all, of the "handicaps" you've mentioned are on hinks to do list. Cheesy BTW: hinks, maybe you could post that famous mile long doc to the Hotline list. I know you did it once before, but many people were not on the list at the time, and i know that i personally would like to see whats been added. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: I have a stupid question. From: Colt West Date: Tue, 28 Jan 1997 13:37:54 -0600 How do you disconnect individual users who have logged in to your Hotline Server? I can't seem to find where this question has been addressed. And I can find the button that does it either!!! Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: I have a stupid question. From: Huck Date: Mon, 27 Jan 1997 18:18:44 -0400 It sounds like a problem of old. I remember it has something to do with the memory control panel. Umm, set the 32-bit accessing on. Ya that's it!!!!!! 32 bit accessing in memory control panel.. make sure it's on. =)> jr ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Re: Human Interface Design Excellence Award (fwd) From: Adam Hinkley Date: Wed, 29 Jan 97 11:15:31 +1100 >its menu's weren't even functional until recently. The metatools GUI's look very nice, but they're hardly practical. eg, in bryce 2, some of the buttons don't appear unless you move the mouse over them!!! And then after a while, they disappear from view! What's more, they're tucked into the edge of the screen where you could easily miss them if you didn't happen to let the mouse linger over that area. >In fact, >I'd love to see it broken into various parts, and have >been considering how to do this myself. Right now I don't think it's worth it. ____________________________________________________________________ Adam Hinkley, developer of Hotline ---------------------------------------------------------------------- End of The Hotline Users Digest --- Internet Message Header Follows --- Received: from macline.fwparker.org by bertrand.ccs.carleton.ca (SMI-8.6/SMI-4.0) id EAA23956; Wed, 29 Jan 1997 04:01:11 -0500 Message-Id: <199701290901.EAA23956.23956@bertrand.ccs.carleton.ca> From: The Hotline Users Mailing List To: The Hotline Users Mailing List Subject: The Hotline Users Digest #15 - 01/29/97 Date: Wed, 29 Jan 97 03:00:01 -0600 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain Precedence: Bulk X-ListServer: LetterRip 1.0 by Fog City Software, Inc.
