- Bella Mia, Inc.
- Press Release
It looks as though 1998 is proving to
be a banner year for Bella Mia, Inc. First
of all we would like to thank you the
customers of Mia.Net and Bella Mia, Inc.
for your business, and would like you to
know that we have just ended our first
fiscal year in business(April 30, 1998.)
Our official (day we were up and running)
1year birthday, so to speak is May 15,
1998.
We have been moving at a steady pace,
and are growing as expected. Due to local
advertising and enormous referrals, we
have managed to double our dialup and
hosting user base in the last two months.
We recently added a second T-1 and have
plans for one more in August of 98 and
another in December of 1998 bringing our
total to 4 T1's We are currently adding a
new DNS server to our facility. We have
also added a G3/233 to handle billing,
since the old machine was to pokey,
however an old Mac Never Dies, and the
Performa is now used for lighter office
duties. When our new DNS server is put
into operation we will begin to break our
Mia.Net network up into separate servers
for redundancy. We will also be
introducing FileMaker Pro Hosting for our
web hosting clients. We currently maintain
a user to modem ratio of 5to1, and will
continue to ad more ports as the ratio
exceeds 8to1.
With all this in mind, we are in the
process of making some very big decisions
about expansion. We have been researching
and organizing a business plan for Making
Bella Mia, Inc. a National ISP.
Essentially this project would give our
current dialup customers roaming service,
to be able to dial up from any of the
cites we would serve in the US for a local
call. For our customers elsewhere in the
US, this would offer the ability to dial
Mia.Net when accessing their web sites, or
servers instead of AOL, or EarthLink etc.
Beyond this, it would give us the ability
to serve new customers in new territories
across the whole US. These plans are
currently tentative, however, as we
continue researching the viability and
potential markets and marketability of
just such a venture.
Below I have listed the cities we would
serve as we expand.
- Seattle, WA - (1) Dial-Up
Location (Serving entire city and large
area of surrounding cities)
